PetSafe Simply Clean Review

I love my cat to death, but I can honestly say I can live without cleaning his litter pan. But, unless I want to smell cat urine and feces in my home, cleaning the cat box is something I have to live with. Well, when a good friend of mine told me that she bought a PetSafe Simply Clean self-cleaning cat box for her two housecats, I decided that I wanted one for my house.

When I was at the pet store, I was strolling through I came across a product that’s called the PetSafe Simply Clean Continuous-Clean. Supposedly, this litter pan is unlike other ones because it continually cleans itself; think of it as a toilet for cats. Well, I ended up purchasing it, and here you can read my ultra-detailed review:

There are several features. The first, and obviously the most important feature, is the fact that it cleans itself. You no longer have to scoop your kitty’s poop every five minutes; it the job for you. On top of that, this product sifts easily through litter and removes unwanted urine or poo clusters.

The Pros

My cat likes it: Everyone who owns a cat knows that they can be, well, very particular about where they use the bathroom. My cat is no different. In fact, I actually think that my cat is one of the most stubborn and hard-to-please felines to walk the planet. The first day that I showed him his new place to go, he barely paid attention to it. I thought that I was going to end up returning the product, but my cat came around. In fact, he actually adores it. However, everyone’s cat is different, which means that some cats might like this type while others won’t want to get near it.

It’s quiet: Before purchasing, I had already tried several self-cleaning boxes and ended up returning them promptly afterward. The problem was that they made unusual noises that scared my cat to death. However, the Simply Clean doesn’t make that much noise; in fact, I would say that it’s as quiet as a mouse.

It works: I was very hesitant towards buying this product at first because I though its claims were mumbo jumbo, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it really works. Although you have to clean `every few months, you don’t have to scoop poop every time your cat uses the bathroom.

The Cons

I think that this product is splendid, but there are a few negative things about it. First of all, this machine isn’t cheap; the price usually ranges from $80 to $200 dollars. Another negative aspect  is that it tends to spill litter from time to time. I solve this problem, though, by putting some newspapers underneath it.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I would definitely recommend this product to cat owners who are fed up, and I’d definitely purchase it again if I would have to.
